Real People, Real Jobs - News Stories  The Real People, Real Jobs website highlights the employment successes of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who are working in paid jobs in their communities.  Through the use of innovative, front-line employment support practices, these individuals are earning money, forming networks, and contributing to their communities.

VIDEO: University of Arizona Medical Center, Tucson's University Medical Center offers on-site vocational training through Project SEARCH, providing competitive employment opportunities for young people with disabilities. Cardiac Services Manager Wendy Gonzales describes how former Project Search participant Daniel Morales demonstrated the skills and attitude that made him a perfect fit for full-time employment in the hospital's Transportation Department. The Vision of the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council is one community working together to achieve full inclusion and participation of persons with developmental disabilities.

 

 

VIDEO:  Jim Click, Automotive, Since 1975, Jim Click Automotive Group has looked for opportunities to hire people with disabilities. President Jim Click describes how a Job Survey nearly 40 years ago by Tucson's Beacon Group developed into the Jim Click Automotive Group employing many people with disabilities, many of them in non-subsidized, competitive employment. The Vision of the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council is one community working together to achieve full inclusion and participation of persons with developmental disabilities.
