At the request of its members, Gesher Disability Resourcse agency is bringing back support and education in a small group setting. The second Monday of the month, parents get together to talk about their experiences, hear from local professionals on interesting topics, share a positive story and be together.
The next meeting is Monday, February 13, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus - Social Hall, located at 12701 N. Scottsdale Rd in Scottsdale.
This month will be a special session for “Residential Readiness” as theagency looks towards purchasing another IDLA home.
Who should attend?
- Parents of children (all ages to adult) with special needs who want to talk with each other.
- Educators, clinicians, siblings, and grandparents who also want to share.
- Those who want to learn about disability related services from both professional and personal perspectives.
- FOR THIS MONTH – Adults with special needs who want to talk with potential roommates.
Agenda:
- Mixer for potential roommates - Please bring your adult child who is considering residential options to meet others. Our hope is potential roommates and friendships can be found.

Guest speaker Ileen Herberg from the Division of Developmental Disabilities will share information and requirements from the State of Arizona. Additionally, you will hear from parents of the current residents in the Shalom and Keshet Houses.
