Seminar: Empowering People with Disabilities to Engage in the Community

The latest seminar from the City of Peoria's SUPPORT Awareness Series will feature Ability360 vice president of community integration Darrel Christenson. He has more than 30 years assisting people with disabilities to be more independent and integrated in their community. Both his lifelong experiences as a person with disabilities and as a person with a graduate degree in Guidance & Counseling have given him the experience and knowledge to assist people to adjust to life with a disability.
Darrel Christenson was elected to the National Council on Independent Living’s (NCIL) Board of Directors three years ago/ The NCIL’s mission is to advance independent living and the rights of people with disabilities through consumer-driven advocacy and is the longest-running national cross-disability, grassroots organization run by and for people with disabilities.
