Thursday, April 12, 2018 - 8:00am to 4:00pm

Join Raising Special Kids for its second Symposium on Children With Special Health Care Needs on April 12 at Desert Willow Conference Center in Phoenix.

Tickets are now on sale for this one-day event that sold out last year! This year’s Symposium has nationally recognized experts presenting the latest information on a variety of topics from the latest Arizona Medicaid updates to family leadership, legal considerations, and cutting edge assistive technologies.

Featured speakers include:

  • Keynote speaker Julie Beckett, a nationally recognized disability advocate, and speaker. Julie is the mother of the late Katie Beckett; the first child to receive a Medicaid home- and community-based waiver.
  • Thomas J. Betlach, MPA, director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, Arizona’s single state Medicaid agency.
  • Sue Swenson, who most recently served as Acting Assistant Secretary in the U.S. Department of Education Office for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services.
