New $150,000 Grant Builds Diverse Workforce for People with Developmental Disabilities
PHOENIX, AZ—The Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council is excited to announce a new grant solicitation for employment projects in Arizona open May 22 through July 19, 2018.
The Council is looking for proposals to support businesses to diversify their workforce by hiring, training and retaining people with developmental disabilities. Applicants should be willing to diversify their organization, implement a model hiring and training program, and share their story with the Council and other businesses.
"We look forward to reviewing the great ideas that Arizona’s organizations have to more fully include people with developmental disabilities on their teams," said Erica McFadden, executive director of the Council.
The main goal is to increase employment opportunities for workers with developmental disabilities, and design and implement strategies to retain and promote these workers.
This solicitation is open to nonprofits, businesses, tribal governments, universities, and government agencies. The total amount of funding available is $150,000 over 12 months with the potential for renewal for up to two additional years. Multiple awards will be considered.
