Supported Decision Making Academy

Sign up for our free Supported Decision Making Academy to learn how to develop your own supported decision-making plans and agreements. In just four short classes, participants will learn all aspects of supported decision-making. Each class builds upon the other as you work with Academy staff to develop supported decision-making plans and agreements that are specifically tailored to the needs of you and your family.
Classes will be held once a week over the course of one month. Each class will be held online for one hour and a half every Tuesday from 6 PM to 7:30 PM.

Week Four: Developing your own supported decision-making agreements
Who Should Register?
Developing supported decision-making plans and agreements work best when done together as a team. Anyone who plans on being part of your team to develop supported decision-making plans and agreements should register for these classes.
We also encourage people with disabilities who are going to be going through supported decision-making to be part of the class. Ultimately, it is the decision of the person with the disability to decide whether or not they will use supported decision-making and who they want to be their supporters. There is no limit as to who you can have on your supported decision-making team so long as they believe that the person with the disability should have the right to make their own decisions and be as independent as possible.
Because each class builds upon each other, it is important that you register only if you are able to make the commitment to be there for all four courses of the classes. We understand that life happens and sometimes it may not be possible to be there, but we ask that you make that effort to be there and participate as much as possible. We will work with you to ensure you are caught up if you must miss a class, but this program works best when you learn all aspects of supported decision-making.
