Arizona ABLE Training

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), which is overseeing the implementation of the Arizona ABLE Program, will hold three informational and training sessions in preparation for launch in early 2018.
Trainings will be held on December 13 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. and a second session at 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and December 14 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at DES headquarters, located at 1789 W Jefferson St, Phoenix, AZ 85007
** PLEASE NOTE: ** These sessions are intended for employees of state agencies and other organizations that serve individuals with disabilities. Space is limited and reservations are required.

The sessions will cover the following:
o Provide an overview of the program
o Explain how individuals can deposit funds into an ABLE account without jeopardizing federal and state benefits
o Preview the enrollment process
o Identify opportunities to expand program participation
Arizona House Bill 2388 established the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act. The ABLE Act allows certain individuals with disabilities and their families and friends the opportunity to contribute to a tax-exempt savings account that can be used for maintaining health, independence, and quality of life.
